Why End Betta Cups?

Small cup displays pose serious welfare risks for betta fish at pet chains.
Unstable water conditions
Low water volume allows waste and toxins like ammonia to accumulate quickly, while cups lack filtration and stable heating.
Severely restricted environment
Small cups restrict movement and provide little to no environmental enrichment or stimulation.
Stress, illness, and injury
Poor and unstable conditions can contribute to chronic stress, lowered immunity, fin and gill damage, infection, and disease.
There are other ways
Betta fish don't have to be sold in cups. Nano tanks, divided rack systems, and other retail display methods already exist.
